on Thirteen:

Fri., September 2nd at 1:00 AM

Lyricist Sheldon Harnick recounts experiences from his 50-year career in the theater, including his partnership with the late composer Jerry Bock, which resulted in the hit musicalsFiddler on the RoofFiorello! and She Loves Me. In addition, Harnick performs “To Life,” one of the best-known songs from Fiddler on the Roof with singer/actress Kate Baldwin. We also take a look back at Theater Talk‘s 2004 interview with Harnick, Bock and the late Joseph Stein, taped while the three were preparing Fiddler’s Broadway revival that year. Finally, we remember critic Donald Lyons, a frequent contributor to our program, who died on July 12, 2011 at age 73.
